In the night from Sunday to Monday has died a legend of Russian hockey Viktor Tikhonov . In mid-October the illness confined him to bed. Tikhonov was treated at home, but his condition only worsened. Late last month Tikhonov admitted to the cardiology department of the Main Military Clinical Hospital. Burdenko, and on November 24 at the sportsman's heart stopped.

Viktor Tikhonov grew up in Moscow and left the yard football and hockey. During his military service he was accepted into the Air Force hockey team MBO, where he played as a defender. In the championships of the USSR, he had 296 matches and scored 35 goals.
In coaching Tikhonov joined in 1962. Heading club CSKA he arrived in 1977.
