Salt is still useful!

 Salt is still useful!  For several decades, we inspire the idea that salt is "white death". And now scientists have found that a lot of salt - it's not scary.

In the study, researchers from the University of Leuven, Belgium followed the 3681 healthy men and women under the age of 60 years, permanently residing in Europe. Observations continued for about eight years. It was found that increasing the amount of salt in their diet did not affect the risk of developing high blood pressure. Moreover, a diet in which the present much salt   even slightly reduced the death rate from heart disease. These studies published in Journal of the American Medical Association.

It is interesting that the study it appeared exactly three months after the US government launched a campaign to reduce the amount of salt in restaurant meals and store products. Belgian researchers made their measurements on the basis of determination of sodium in the urine observed at the beginning and end of the study.

Just over 6% of the study participants had a heart attack, stroke or other severe acute cardiovascular disease over the period of observation. About a third of cases, the disease resulted in death of patients. Among those people who consume less salt risk of death from heart attack or stroke was 56% higher compared to those who lean on salt more than others.

This relationship was observed even in the event that a fan of salt suffer from obesity, high cholesterol, diabetes, and was a smoker. The findings of researchers are clear - a campaign to reduce the amount of salt should be discontinued. However, the exact scientific explanation for the obtained data, scientists still can not find.
