Sclerosis won stem cells

Sclerosis won stem cells British doctors are going to start a clinical trial in humans therapy using stem cells. Theoretically, it should stop or even cause regression of multiple sclerosis.

A team of scientists from the University of Bristol wants to take away 80 volunteers for a wide range of experience as a pilot study in six patients with multiple sclerosis   given attractive results. Technology of therapy involves bone marrow collection by the patient, a filtration   stem cells and intravenous injection on the same day.

The method is based on the theory that   stem cells   can help repair the damage caused multiple sclerosis   containment nerve myelin. "We are very encouraged by the results of our first study, - says Professor Neil Skolding. - Big inspires optimism is the question of security of this method for health."

The first study on six patients showed that the treatment can stop the progression of multiple sclerosis . But to say that the disease can be sent back, while it is impossible. That's why scientists are going to conduct a more extensive study. Especially that stem cell therapy is already widely applied to treat multiple sclerosis in many medical centers of the world, although some researchers believe this method untested.

Meanwhile, the University of Bristol has received from an American charitable society over a million dollars, which will allow him to start in February, a clinical study, the results of which are anxiously waiting for the millions of people with MS from around the world.
