Drinking large amounts of meat increases the risk of diabetes, even if the person also eats a lot of fruits and vegetables. That is the conclusion drawn by researchers from the Medical Research Institute INSERM in Paris.

French researchers observed 14 years for 60 thousand women, studying the link between diet and the risk of their development Type 2 diabetes . It turned out that this disease occurs most often in women who use the greatest amount of acid-forming foods, such as meat. Such women are 56% more likely than the others faced with diabetes compared to those who ate the least amount of these products.

Moreover, this relationship remained even when the meat lovers leaned actively and significantly more useful fruits and vegetables.
