The Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg took place the ceremony of awarding the highest theatrical prize "Golden Sofit". The first award was given to the actors of the Bolshoi Drama Theater Alisa Freundlich and Oleg Basilashvili. Artists became winners of the special prize "For creative longevity and unique contribution to the theatrical culture of St. Petersburg."
Petersburg is the theater capital - the largest number of awards went to the Mariinsky and Maly Drama Theatre. The play "Three Sisters" at the Maly Drama Theatre was recognized as the best in this year's statement on a big stage, and its artistic director and theater director Lev Dodin has also received the award for his outstanding work.
Owners of "Gold spotlights" which are awarded in 20 categories, have become largely the premiere season of 2010/11. Konstantin Raikin in the same evening the theater was awarded the prize named after Georgy Tovstonogov "For outstanding contribution to the development of theatrical art."
