British doctors at the University of Bristol examined the effectiveness of operations hip replacement   method hip resurfacing (also called "resurfacing hip"), which is an alternative to traditional hip replacement. This technology is used since the late 1980s. Implant manufacturers claim that their products provide an opportunity for people to move better. In addition, patients have more time before the top of the hip still have to be removed. The most common joint replacement hip resurfacing offer people younger than 55.

"The level of unsuccessful outcomes of such operations is unacceptably high, - says Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Bristol Ashley Blom. - In light of our findings, we do not recommend hip replacement   women. For patients aged 55 the likelihood of re-operation, in this case 11 rises to 7%, depending on the size of the femoral head. The smaller this bone, the higher the risk of failure. "
