Cherry juice combats insomnia

Cherry juice combats insomnia Daily intake of cherry juice is able to conquer insomnia. American scientists have found that the beverage has a favorable effect on the human body and helps to provide a sound sleep.

To reach this conclusion, the team of researchers of the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Rochester and the Centre for Research Kanandagua had to conduct a serious investigation. A group of 15 volunteers drank portion cherry juice   morning and evening for 2 weeks. Another group made use of specially selected drink. In the second group of the quality and duration of sleep is not changed. But the volunteers of the first group reported improvement in sleep. They fell asleep in the middle 17 minutes faster than before.

Scientists suggest that cherries contain nutrients, in particular, melatonin. Melatonin   It is a natural antioxidant. Small amounts of this substance helps to stimulate falling asleep and improve sleep.

J. Russell. Reiter, a researcher at the University of Texas Health Center, said that cherries are useful and are available at any time of the year. Their useful properties do not depend on the form in which to take them - fresh, frozen, dried or in juice.

These studies are published in the "Journal of the healthy food."
