Sexual activity may cause cancer sex life

According to the head of research of Dr. Polyxena Dimitropulu, sex hormones in some men may be responsible not only for a stronger sex drive in his youth, but also for the development of prostate cancer later in life. A group of researchers led by Dr. Dimitropulu watched lifestyles of 400 men with prostate cancer and 409 healthy men. Attention has been sharpened on parameters such as sexual activity, number of sexual partners, and the cases transferred genital infections. Analysis of the data showed a correlation between loving and prone to prostate cancer.

Scientists had found a difference between the two groups in how often men have resorted to sex. It was found that men with cancer of the prostate, often have sex or masturbate. 40% of the group with cancer is made more than 20 times a month or more, while in the group of healthy men was 32%. Also among men suffering from prostate cancer, two-fifths in the past have had six or more partners. In the group of healthy men only one third of those counted.

At the same time, scientists say that the link between sexual activity and prostate cancer decreases with age. Why is this happening, experts can not yet explain. The researchers say their work gives reason to believe that hormone therapy can be very effective in the fight against prostate cancer. "Hormones appear to play a key role in the development of prostate cancer and, therefore, as a therapy may decrease hormone levels, which is supposed to stimulate the growth of cancer cells," - he expressed his opinion of Dr. Dimitropulu.
