Sitting shortens life For many people, a sedentary lifestyle is a habit. They spend in a seated position to 10 hours per day. But this way of life greatly injurious to health.

A recent study of Canadian scientists argue that passive lifestyle   harmful even for those people who are in good physical shape. They are also unable to avoid negative consequences. Canadian researchers from the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Center conducted the first of its kind to study the effects of sitting for the body. The subjects were children, watching TV. They measured the levels of blood pressure and respiration parameters. First of all, the scientists wondered: the effect on the child's body many hours of sitting in the classroom at school, and then - a few hours spent in front of computer or TV.

The findings were not encouraging. After seating from two to seven hours in the blood sugar level increases and decreases the level of "good" cholesterol. Then there are factors that contribute to osteoporosis. It is a woman's risk. In those who conducts a working chair for 7 hours or more per day, increasing the threat of cancer. This is particularly evident when compared with those who spends sitting position   less than three hours per day. And one more important fact: many hours of rest leads to obesity. Calculated as doctors, every two hours a day in sitting position   increase the risk of obesity by 5 percent.

Canadian researchers offer a very easy way to solve the problem - often wake up. According to them, the body responds positively, even at a very short break.
