Human longevity lies in the gut

It may be that contained in our gut bacteria are the key to longevity and healthy life. Experts from the University of Washington in the United States found that these microorganisms depend on a person's weight and the risk of falling victim to various diseases.

Human longevity lies in the gut bacteria in the intestine

Each person is so unique set of microorganisms in the intestines, which can be called "bacterial identification card," as American scientists. The researchers emphasize that their work did not give an answer to the question of whether a person is able to influence its microbiome (the aggregate of all microbes in the body). But we found out that a thorough analysis of the content Bacteria in the intestine   (for example, by analyzing the chair) can become an indispensable basis for any survey of general practitioners in the near future.

Scientists themselves being tested in 37 healthy chair of Americans for 5 years. It is possible to develop a new type of genetic testing to track different types of bacteria. Tests revealed the presence of a unique set of organisms in each person, but close relatives and had similar types of bacteria. In doing so, the colony Bacteria in the intestine   I rarely - more than 70% of the strains were the same a year later, and four years later were minor changes.

But can actively change the balance of bacteria? 4 volunteers, obese, have switched to another diet. They gut bacteria changed more frequently, and scientists have noticed that there are certain groups of microorganisms, which quickly evolved or decreased during the diet. However, most likely, these changes were more related to real weight loss, not the dietary ingredients milkshakes. So to claim that with the help of certain bacteria can help the person regain a healthy weight, it is premature - require new studies. (READ MORE)
