The famous actor was still alive after being shot in the head

The famous actor was still alive after being shot in the head American 61-year-old actor Daniel von Bargen, best known for the films "Basic Instinct," "Universal Soldier" and others. Tried to commit suicide, fortunately unsuccessfully for themselves.

At the Monday, February 20 actor shot himself in the head with a firearm, but the result is miraculously survived and was able to call an ambulance by calling 911. Currently, Bargen   hospitalized, doctors assess his condition as critical.

The reason for the unsuccessful suicide, as it turned out later, was a long depression, caused, in turn, gangrene of the feet due to diabetes progressing. Once physicians have recommended the actor to amputate toes, he decided that the operation is complete cessation of his professional career.

Barga is the case, of course, unique, but the medicine known precedents when people happily survived the gunshot wounds to the head. The year before, in Britain it gained notoriety the story of a patient who entered the hospital in Manchester with a suspected stroke - 61-year-old man when doctors found a bullet in the head. The patient's name was Peter Hesford. April 19 while working in his garden he had a stroke when he found out his wife, he was conscious but unable to speak. Arriving paramedics for obvious reasons, a man suspected stroke, but an x-ray of the head showed that Hesforda in the cranial cavity is a foreign object. Using computed tomography, doctors have found that this object is a bullet, and told the police about the discovery.

According to the man, he has no idea how she could get there. Ballistics experts concluded that the bullet stuck in the occipital region, penetrated into the head through the eye. How could this happen despite the fact that the eyeball of the patient did not suffer, and remains a mystery. Hesforda have no recollection of the incident has not been preserved.

The doctors tried to remove the bullet, but this proved impossible due to its position in the skull.

Another precedent recorded in the same year, was associated with a resident of Germany, who had a bullet in his head for five years: the man simply forgot that he had been shot, because at the time of the shooting he was drunk. For physicians, this hapless resident of the city of Bochum was due to suspicion of a cyst in the back of his head. In it some doctors and found 5 6-millimeter bullet: it stuck under his scalp, but the skull is not passed.

All I could remember the man - is that on New Year's party either in 2004, or 2005, he received a severe blow to the head. Probably, experts believe, "blow" was a stray bullet from a firearm in honor of the holiday. "He told us that he remembers the pain, but not so strong to see a doctor," - said later surgery. A bullet from the head of the patient they have learned.
