Allergic to shrimp pass with age

Allergic to shrimp pass with age As a child, you suffer from an allergy to shrimp, and now permanently abandoned this delicacy? Do not rush with such a categorical solution - scientists have found that allergic to shrimp can pass with age itself.
In the new study, it was found that in adults with allergies to shrimp   the reaction of the immune system to the allergen is expressed much less acute than in children. This allows, in turn, suggests that some allergy sufferers over the years can build resistance to shrimp. And again, they can order your favorite sea salads or snack to beer.

Allergic to shrimp   It is among the most common food allergies . It can manifest itself in different ways, from the most moderate symptoms, such as runny nose and itching to severe health problems that threaten human life. Usually, they are associated with disorders of the respiratory activity and a sharp drop in blood pressure.

This type food allergies lasts very long and often moves from childhood to adulthood. But in the new study, the results of which were published in the journal Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, the scientists decided to take compared blood samples from 34 children and 19 adults suffering from allergic reactions to shrimp.

It was found that children's blood level of specific antibodies against shrimp usually was four times higher than in adults. Furthermore, antibodies to the child's body tended to bind considerably more protein shrimp than in the adult, and significantly stronger.
The researchers emphasize that they did not observe their patients over a long period of time, and therefore can not be said about the age in which they originated   allergic to shrimp . Therefore we can not say with certainty that adults began to suffer from food allergies   as a child, and with the age of its manifestation down. However, to assume that the allergic reaction is reduced over the years, it is quite permissible.
