Abortion can lead to breast cancer

Abortion can lead to breast cancer The researchers found that in the years following the abortion a woman's risk of breast cancer rises three times. But having a baby and breast feeding, by contrast, prevents the growth of tumors.

A team of scientists from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka, has been studying the protective properties of breastfeeding for the health of women and unsafe abortion . They found that the nursing mother defends itself against diseases such as breast cancer , But abortion, in contrast, is a significant risk factor. Among other factors like smoking and marked the beginning of menopause.

This study is yet another contribution to the study of the relationship between abortion   and development breast cancer . The work of scientists from Sri Lanka is the fourth epidemiological studies showing this relationship, which has been conducted over the past 14 months. The other three were in the USA, China, and Turkey, and they also showed that the   abortion   increases the risk of   breast cancer .

However, the British Association of Cancer Cancer Research UK questioned the accuracy of the research and advises women not to worry yet. "The observations were made in a very small number of patients - only 300 people - says Dr. Kat Amy from Cancer Research UK. - Just on the basis of this amount you can talk about the likelihood of statistical errors. A larger study, which involved tens of thousands of women who did not showed a significant association between abortion and breast cancer ".

Yet at the moment, doctors do not warn women of all unsafe abortion . Professor Jack Skarisbrik of charity counseling center for pregnant Life believes that this study was a new disturbing evidence of a link between abortion and cancer.

"Our health care system is simply betrays women when refuses to report what they have done with their bodies, if they do an abortion" - says the professor.
