Modern methods of diagnosis of cancer can no longer be tolerated, according to the author of a new book. For each life saved, these technologies will cripple ten other lives.
It's about regular mammograms, through which, in some countries formally recommended to take a woman from 50 to 70 years old every three years by the state (in Russia more often: women over 40 recommend mammograms every year). The book came to light after it was reported that many victims face the risk of breast cancer with relapse of their disease, as many surgeons for cosmetic reasons these women leave little breast tissue after surgery. The author of the book is a Danish expert Peter Gotsche (Peter Gotzsche), director of the independent Center Nordic Cochrane Collaboration in Copenhagen. For more than 10 years, Dr. Gotsche spent the analysis of modern methods breast cancer diagnosis .
He believes that mammograms save lives one out of every 2000 women, but 10 harm to others, including many patients in whom the cancer cells over time would disappear naturally or be preserved benign.
A report issued in July last year study, researchers found no difference in the incidence of breast cancer among the countries where there is a mandatory mammography, and countries where nothing like the women is not recommended.
