If you believe researchers from America, the secret of a successful marriage in the elderly is their sexual harmony. Apparently, there is no age at which the topic of sex would become irrelevant.
Ask any elderly couple that allow them to live together for so long. And you will surely hear of mutual respect, the propensity to compromise and resolve all disputes immediately, without postponing their resolution indefinitely. But according to researchers from the Agricultural and Mechanical University of Florida, the secret to marital well-being is saturated sexual life. They interviewed 238 couples over 65 years of the degree of satisfaction with life.
Researchers found that seniors as much more like the sunset of their lives, if they can occasionally indulge in intimate pleasures. The study showed that almost 80% of citizens older than 65 years who have sex more than once a month, feel happier.
Among those who in the last 12 months of life had sex, only 59% happy. This number drops to 40% when it comes to the happiness of the elderly who did not experience sexual pleasures more than a year. The scientists believe that their research will contribute to the understanding of the relationship between sex and human happiness. And it will prepare specialists in sexual health for this specific category of citizens, which, incidentally, regularly increasing.
