Five years after the facelift, most patients look younger than before the surgery. This is the conclusion, researchers from plastic surgery clinics Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow.
They found that three-quarters of patients after five years facelift looks more youthful than before the operation. While some areas of the face still showing signs of aging, a number of objective and subjective indicators demonstrates the long-term positive results of plastic surgery.
His conclusions on the basis of experts made analysis of the photographs of 50 patients passed through the lift, on average, five and a half years ago. The effectiveness of the operation was estimated at three key indicators:
- Objective measurements: height of the jaws, the rotation angle of the chin to the neck, etc.
- Subjective measure: the wrinkles from the nose to the lips of the lip to the chin, etc.
- General changes: assessing appearance of the patient as a whole
The study found that all three types of indicators improved significantly, even five years after the facelift, but since the operation and over the years the traces of age-related changes is still visible. These studies will be published in the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in December.
