Marijuana, a wide application, used by doctors to relieve pain in cancer patients. It was found that regular smoking is forbidden grass reduces the risk of developing diabetes.
The researchers analyzed data from a survey conducted in the period from 2005 to 2010, which was attended by 4657 patients. The study found that 579 of the respondents regularly smoked marijuana 2 000 patients smoked it earlier, and the rest - it never did not use. Also, the subjects were measured blood sugar and insulin levels. The results helped to calculate insulin resistance.
The study revealed that people who regularly smoked marijuana, there was 16% reduction level the hormone insulin . Those who had never smoked, there was no such effect. In addition, nonsmokers waist much larger than in smokers, this increases the risk of diabetes.
If the findings are confirmed by the experts, it will help in the development of new treatment diabetes using the active ingredient of marijuana - tetrahydrocannabinol.
It should be noted that at present medical marijuana is legal in 18 states of America. For 40 years it is the first time that more than half of US citizens felt the need to legalize it throughout the United States.
