Smoking marijuana   not only impairs the memory at this stage of age, but even on the contrary, can improve concentration and attention. However, this applies only to periodic, irregular   smoking marijuana . Long-term and continuous fascination with this easy drug still has a devastating impact on health.

In the study, researchers analyzed the mental function and memory in 9000 Britons aged 50. It was found that the brains of lovers of marijuana, which began smoke weed   after 40, it is in the same condition, and that of those who never fond of this drug. Marijuana remains the most common narcotic substance, which allow themselves middle-aged people. So, as much as 6% of those at the beginning of the study was 42, and at the end of 50, admitted   smoking marijuana   for the last year. At the same time a quarter of respondents at least once tried marijuana for the entire study period.

What to heavier drugs, they have recognized the use of 3% to 8% of the participants. Among these drugs drugs called amphetamines, LSD, hallucinogenic mushrooms, cocaine and ecstasy.

However, the authors emphasize that the findings should not serve as a justification for the use of marijuana or other drugs. After these observations have not studied the long-term negative consequences for human health.
