Nearly 50 million Americans suffer chronic   pain   because of illness or injury. Most currently used   pain medication   have serious side effects and may even be addictive.

The new drug devoid of such negative aspects. The researchers found that in chili   contains a substance Capsaicin . This component can cause pain and discomfort as activates receptors.

Initially, the scientists plan to find out which skin cells react to the causes capsaicin pain . As a result, they have found a novel family of molecules, which play an important role in pain biology and understand how the block to eliminate discomfort.

Laboratory tests were performed on experimental animals. The results of this work confirmed the hypothesis of the research team.
