A breakthrough in science: the cure for cataracts

A breakthrough in science: the cure for cataracts The first in the history of medicine cure for cataracts can stop the development of this severe disease, according to researchers. The drug is being developed by experts from the University of Adelaide in Australia.

Cataracts   is a leading cause of blindness worldwide. Half of people over age 65, the disease develops in one or both eyes. But now Australian researchers have created a drug that can be a breakthrough in   Cataract . The drug prevents the disease from progressing and look "to blur".

Currently medicine can not offer any drugs for Cataract There are only surgical techniques. Unfortunately, until now it has not given us pharmacy no drops or pills that can prevent the disease or to put it back. The only possible way is surgical replacement with an artificial lens.

The operation itself (pictured) took 35-40 minutes, after which 95% of patients almost immediately restored normal vision. But these operations are carried out in cases where the disease has gone too far. A new drug can stop the progression of cataracts at an early stage. Modern diagnostic techniques allow to detect disease in advance during routine examination by an ophthalmologist.

The makers of the drug say that it can be produced in the form of drops or cream that will have to handle the eyes before going to bed. The drug slows down the development of cataracts, and in some cases completely stop the disease. Taking into account that this disease often begins to develop in one eye, and then almost inevitably turns on the second eye, the drug can be used immediately in both eyes at once, which will give even more impressive.
