Do not rub your eyes - is a hole!

Do not rub your eyes - is a hole! When Jonathan British Sugar admitted to the University, then he was forced to admit to himself that he can not normally see. As a teenager, he saw the vision of the left eye with the times dropped so much that has been difficult to estimate the distance between each step while descending the stairs. Sugar is increasingly shedding water past the cup. But right eye continued to serve properly.

However, by age 18, and his right eye Jonathan began phasing out. At this time, a young man just sat in the press service of the football club, "Barnett" in North London. And suddenly I noticed that are not able to see the numbers on the players' shirts. And during a trip to Asia, Jonathan had to constantly hold on to friends when he made the ascent up the mountain. Otherwise, he could simply break into the abyss.

The name of his illness a young man learned in 12 years - he was diagnosed keratoconus   the left eye. It is a progressive condition, because that affects the cornea, changing its shape from the "football" in the "rugby ball", that is, becoming more oval. As a result, reduced clarity of vision, all objects become blurred. Scientists do not know why there is this disease. There is a hypothesis about its genetic origin.

But some doctors believe that the cause of Keratoconus   is a bad habit too often rub eyes. This is what Jonathan was suffering, especially that with time his vision was becoming increasingly blurred, and rubbing eyes was like a natural reaction. Often, the primary treatment for keratoconus are hard corneal contact lenses. But in the case of Jonathan and doctors had to resort to more radical means and implement Corneal transplantation . This is a fairly complex operation, the time after which full recovery may take up to one and a half years.

In those days Jonathan just restore vision after corneal transplantation . Now it is a charitable foundation to help people with diseases of the eye. Sugar strongly recommends that all is not "wiped his eyes", even if it is strongly requested.
