Lefty suffer more from birth

Lefty suffer more from birth Lefties are more prone to fear than right-handers, as the researchers found. This discovery could be the basis for a new look at the problem of post-traumatic stress.

Psychologists from the University of Queen Margaret in Edinburgh, led by Dr. Carolyn Chudheri found that southpaw   and right-handers different experience feelings of fear. A group of volunteers were divided into those for whom the main hand is left, and those who often controls the right hand. Then, each participant showed an eight-minute clip from the eerie thriller "The Silence of the Lambs."

After that, all volunteers were asked to describe their feelings of view. Lefties   gave more detailed descriptions, filled with a strong sense of fear with more repetitions than right-handers. This effect is common among people who suffer from   Stress and its effects - They have preserved vivid memories, filled with lots of detail.

"We found that the prevalence of left-handers post-traumatic stress It was twice higher than the right-handed, - says Dr. Chudheri. - Do lefthanders unpleasant memories are more pronounced, sharper, they are deposited in the head. Obviously, left-handedness or right-handedness are directly related to the way in which the brain stores memories during Stress and its effects . The two halves of the brain play a different role in it. Apparently, the right hemisphere (which is dominated by left-handers) are more actively involved in the formation of a sense of fear. "

Scientists need to conduct further research in this direction. But we can already say that it is capable of opening a new light the problem of post-traumatic stress and methods of treatment.
