Vegetarians often suffer worse living

Vegetarians are less healthy and have a lower quality of life than meat-eaters. That is the conclusion reached by researchers from the Medical University of Graz in Austria.

The debate about whether the vegetarianism   the path to better health and longer life expectancy, being not the first century. Supporters of the use of only plant-based foods are confident that this diet makes them stronger, protected from all sorts of diseases, youthful and fun. Meat lovers claim that man is by nature carnivorous, so without the normal food of animal origin will not be able to manage.

Austrian scientists have decided to make this issue clear. They collected information on the incidence of a variety of illnesses among Vegetarians   and meat eaters. The table includes not only such common physical illnesses such as hypertension, arthritis, diabetes, allergies, and mental illnesses, including depression, anxiety and schizophrenia.

It turned out that meat-eaters vegetarians are losing on all fronts. Supporters of plant food is more common and more often visit doctors, they are 50% greater risk of becoming victims and heart attacks, and cancer diseases as well as depression and other mental disorders. The only thing vegetarians spared meat lovers, it's a more active lifestyle and less prone to bad habits such as smoking and alcohol abuse. Furthermore, vegetarians, on average, weigh less carnivores.

The study also showed that the more affluent and educated people are more likely to become vegetarians. But popular opinion denied that eating red meat is associated with a risk of developing a number of diseases, including colon cancer. (READ MORE)
