Sexual promiscuity leads to alcoholism and drug addiction

The unexpected discovery was made by scientists from New Zealand. They found that the frequent change of partners over time, caused more loyal attitude to alcohol and psychotropic drugs. Especially characteristic it was for women.

For 10 years, researchers followed the way of life of more than 1,000 New Zealanders born in the period from 1972 to 1973. Upon reaching a certain age, respondents were asked about their personal life and the presence of addictions. The findings, based on confessions obtained by the participants of the experiment, shocked its initiators.

As it turned out, the girls aged 18 - 20 years who have had multiple sexual partners in a year, 10 times more likely to have problems with drugs and alcohol, compared with the same age, do not change their men and did not come into adulthood.
Sexual intimacy with several men in women 25 years increased their risk of alcohol and drug abuse by 7 times, and the ladies in the group from 26 to 35 years old - eighteen.

In men, the relationship between the number of mistresses and consumption of alcoholic beverages and psychoactive drugs is also traced, but it was not so noticeable.
