Conventional apples confirmed its reputation as super fruit. American researchers (University of Montana) have proved their undoubted benefit to the human intestine. Apples as the scientists were able to verify, inhibit pathogens, causing inflammation of the digestive tract in autoimmune diseases, ulcerative colitis and formations. And better than any other fruit protects the body against colon cancer.
As shown by animal studies, apples contain antioxidants polyphenols can inhibit the activity of the cells, provocatively inflammatory processes in the intestine. Experts from the University of Montana were observing two groups of mice. with artificially induced colitis . In one of these animals was prepared polyphenols isolated from apple peel, while a second control group remained. As a result, the mice that received apple polyphenols were better protected from colitis - in their blood, scientists have discovered much smaller markers indicating the presence of inflammation. At the same time, scientists have no doubt that in addition to the obvious benefits of nutrients and fiber from apples in these fruits, there are other components valuable for human health.
Actually, before the Polish researchers have conducted large-scale experiment involving 592 cancer patients and 765 healthy people. He showed that the probability to be ill bowel cancer significantly reduced if a person eats an apple a day, and if more than one apple every day - the risk is reduced by as much as 50%.
Similar properties of apples scientists explain the fact that these fruits contains a large amount of flavonoids - heterocyclic oxygen compounds. They act as antioxidants, preventing development of free radicals and thus preventing the appearance and proliferation of tumor cells. What is significant: No other fruits and berries from cancer in this way do not protect.
