Heart failure will be cured one prick Treatment of heart failure

The Imperial College London are developing a new technique treatment of heart failure . which includes simple injection and not complex operations. Its creators able to develop in the laboratory a gene that promotes the development of the key protein needed for self-recovery of the heart muscle. According to the authors technique, the injections can be a good alternative heart transplant.

Using jabs is possible to increase in a patient's body SERCA2a protein level, generated in the heart muscle cells and plays important role in the contraction of these muscles. When injections are injected genes into cells heart using absolutely harmless, artificially created virus which is distributed on the body and helps to restore damaged muscle.

Animal studies have shown that this technique provides good results, and this was confirmed when dealing with cells of the human heart in the laboratory. Now, the volunteers get injections. Of the groups 24 patients in the treatment of heart failure   16 people will receive injections of genetic therapy, and the other 8 - placebo.

If the technique would be effective on humans, it can not only put an end to the heavy and deadly operations in patients heart failure and heart transplantation for this category patients. After all, medicine is able to "get" this body recover on their own. (READ MORE)
