As stated by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Veronika Skvortsova, in 2012 the birth rate in the country has increased by 5, 6% - "12, 6000 to 13, 3 per thousand of the population."
According to Skvortsova, it happened due to the special measures taken to stimulate social families by birth of the child, as well as through a range of measures for the protection of motherhood and childhood. The latter includes a service of psychological support of pregnant women in difficult situations, and prevention of abortion.
"It is possible to reduce the number of abortions by 53, 9 thousand, ie by 5, 5% per year", - said the head of the Ministry of Health. In addition, the minister said, the application of new high-tech fertility treatments came to light more than 3 million children. (READ MORE)
